Mogrin, Dwarf adventurer

Mogrin was scouting in a deep, strange forest, leading a small group of adventurers looking for a lost temple that you have stood here, right in the middle of this dark place inhabited by midges.

"A strange team, indeed" thought Mogrin. What would a honest dwarf like him have to do with such unreliable persons ? Two humans, a barbarian named Aegir ("Him at least I can understand" he thought), and a very old guy dressed like a peacock, a so-called 'wizard'... But the worse was that they were accompanied by an Elf archer, yuck! Alright, he was able to fire his arrows in the night without light, and SO WHAT!? Mogrin himself could smell orcs and goblins for hours before seeing them... by the way:

"- Beware! I can feel enemies all around us, be ready to fight!
- We, the Elves, are always ready to fight, master Mogrin, you don't need to ask...
- I, Aegir, will crush any Goblin on this earth, as far as my axe strikes!
- Don't speak too much, they're here!"

Some nasty goblins had surrounded them, and begun to attack.

At first, the fight between the adventurers was balanced: the double axe of the Barbarian, the arrows of the Elf, the spells of the magician made enough damage to their opponents to enable Mogrin, well protected by a shield covered with magical defensive runes, to repell a cloud of ravenous but rather weak Goblins around him... until they heard a heavy, very heavy step coming from the dark of the trees: a Troll! These nasty creatures had concluded an alliance with a Troll!

What will become of our adventurers ? Are they going to get out of this forest alive ? Will they find what they were looking for ? Who knows, and who cares ?

Casting:
- Wizard, Elf and Dwarf adventurers by Caesar
- Barbarian, Goblins and Troll by Dark Alliance

Although our Dwarf hero is new, the previous members of the Adventurers team have already been introduced here and there:
- A Wizard, a true star
- Aegir the Barbarian
- Galadhrim

Hope you like them :)

Galadhrim

A few months ago, I had the chance to get some Fantasy minis by Caesar, a reference rarely seen on the web and apparently only sold by the manufacturer himself. These minis looked very promising, as they represented elvish and human warriors inspired by the Lord of the Ring trilogy. They were Elves and men from Gondor in the second Age, and Galadhrim from the third age. These Galadhrim composed the troops sent by Galadriel to help the men of Rohan during the siege of Helm's Deep - please note that they only appear in the movie but not in Tolkien's book.

I was very excited at the idea of painting one of the archers, since their battledress is rather impressive - and the version made by Games Workshop used an interesting color scheme.

This is what I could achieve - I just finished him half an hour ago :)

This mini perfectly fits its opponents - in this case, Uruk-Hai by Dark Alliance. The Galadhrim is defending the garden of Lothlorien against the orcs of the White Hand.

Tell me if you find this color scheme convincing - I have a few others to paint !

Aegir, the Barbarian

Back to Fantasy. My wizard has a fellow adventurer, at last! He probably recruited him in a nomad camp, before the crossing of the Dark Moor, the silent desert of the north, not a place for the living, it is said, not a place for travelers, unless you look for strange things or dreadful ghosts.

Of course Aegir had heard lots of stories and rumors, but in his full strength, he didn't fear anything, any creature, any man, alive or dead. And he loved gold, the gold that was promised after they could enter the sacred place. What was the name, already? Something related to a god with an impossible name, Tukul, or Ktul something... bah, never mind. And the wizard seemed very confident in his own powers...

Maybe he didn't imagine that they could be ambushed by dozens of skeletons so soon! Not so difficult to crush these skulls, but there were so many.

"Hey wizard, I think it's time to use some magic to get rid of them once and for all !" he said, breathing heavily.

"Not yet, not yet! I have to keep my powers intact, so that I can open the door of the sanctuary, for it is protected by a most powerful spell. Why do you think I hired you ? Do your part, Barbarian, and earn your gold!"

The Barbarian comes from the Dark Alliance range. The wizard is a conversion (already shown here), and the skellies are Caesar minis.

Hope you like them :)

A Wizard, a True Star

I found a post describing simple but effective conversions on Cheap Fantasy Minis, and I immediately wanted to create a wizard that way. The explanation is given by 1Mac here: Cultists and other figures.

I must say that I am quite happy with the result, thank you 1Mac !

I need more adventurers for my dungeons... to be continued.
